A steady approach
Comfort comes first.
I pay attention to how everyone is feeling and adjust as we go. The best photographs happen when people have time to settle in.
Behind the camera
I’m a mom of two, a registered nurse, and the photographer behind Carley Schafer Photography. I know family life can be busy, unpredictable, and wonderful all at once.
That’s why I keep sessions easy: a little guidance, plenty of flexibility, and no pressure for anyone to be perfect.
A steady approach

What I notice
I’m watching for the gestures, expressions, and easy affection that make your relationships recognizable to you.
Why photography
After my children were born, I began noticing how quickly the small routines, expressions, and gestures changed. Photography became a way to remember what everyday life actually felt like—and eventually, to do the same for other people.
Working as a nurse has taught me to listen, prepare, and stay calm when plans change. It’s also taught me how much it matters for people to feel heard and comfortable. I bring that same steady, easygoing approach to every session.
